My Personal Freedom

On Independence Day, we remember the red, white and blue and the fact that we are SO lucky to live in America where we have freedom of religion.  It always reminds me of when my true independence came about; the Red blood of Christ cleansed my soul pure White when I trusted in Him and obeyed His Word to be baptized in the Blue water. I will always remember the day that Christ set me FREE and I’ll always remember the men and women who fight to keep our COUNTRY free.   Everyone enjoy your freedom tomorrow with family, friends, fireworks, hotdogs and apple pie. Debbie

Babies are a HOOT!

Especially baby boys!  My daughters baby shower for our family and ladies from church was so much fun!  The decor was owls and it turned out so cute.  I have to say this, or I will explode……..I LOVE MY CRICUT!  We made the cutest owls! I also need to give props to Snowy Bliss blogspot and Giggles Galore for the great ideas.  I love these blogs…check them out!   We had cupcakes with fondant owls that I made to sit on top and fruit kabobs.

Cute "little mama"

A sweet girl from our church, who is also due at about the same time as Amanda, made her a diaper bag that is TOO cute.  And filled it with “goodies” for the baby.  My son, daughter-in-law & granddaughter got them a Huge basket of goodies with a Mizzou Tiger Bank that roars when you put money in it. Michael (daddy) graduated from Mizzou…….see the smile on his face……or it could’ve been that there was money in it.  We are so blessed to have a great family that can share special moments in life together.  We can’t wait to welcome Itty Bitty into our family.  That’s what we call him since his parents won’t tell us his name. They want something to be a surprise!  I agree……it’s been fun trying to get it out of them but they can’t be tricked. Shucks!

Awww!

Motherhood

I have been thinking lately about when my children were little.  Probably because my daughter is getting ready to have her first baby.  I have raised a son and a daughter without major problems like some people experience…of course there might be some things I don’t know about. Ha!  But I have sat up with a sick child and worried, emergency room visits which are always stressful, sitting in the audience at  Christmas programs, Cub Scout functions, ballet recitals, high school baseball games,  basketball games for both kids, baptisms and  feeling like I was going to burst with pride.  I have sat up until my children came home from dates to hear my daughter talk about what happened and to hear my son say, “Love you Mom, I’m going to bed.”  Boys are less vocal.     Yes, we mothers have had ups and downs but as long as you have Faith in God and kids who make you feel special and loved, it makes it all worthwhile.   So then comes the grandchildren and this is your chance to help make your childrens journey into “parenthood” a little easier than you had it.  But knowing that they will still experience the same worry, nervousness and anticipation.  I can deal with that…..knowing that they will also get those hugs and kisses and I Love You Mommy and Daddy.  Those moments are what make you happier than you can imagine. I want my children to savor those moments because they are easy to take for granted when you are in the thick of things.  When you become a grandmother you realize how fast those times go by.  I have no doubt my daughter and her husband will be wonderful loving parents.  They both have giving and nurturing hearts and this little boy already has a nice wardrobe.  (grin)

Amanda

I have seen first-hand how my son and daughter-in-law are with their little girl, Aislyn.  She’s a lucky little girl to be raised in a Christian home.  When all is said and done, their dad and I are very proud of them and hope we had a little to do with that.  Speaking of that, what kind of Nana would I be if I didn’t show you a picture of our little Aislyn.

New picture, not in a frame yet. Goal for this weekend.

Thank you Lord for all my blessings!  Debbie ♥
